San Diego Adventures - SeaWorld and Disneyland

Monday 4/21 - After our journey to the Mexican border we spent the rest of the day at SeaWorld. Tammy loved going there when she was Sophie's age; Sophie was not as impressed as we thought she would be. She's more of a "mammal" girl, Shamu, the dolphins, and the seals didn't really excite her. She wanted to spend all her time with the Clydesdales (SeaWorld is sponsored by Bud, er Anheuser Busch). They truly were magnificient horses.

Tammy did convince her to feed the seals and she thought that was cool. We hopped on the Bayside Skyride for a bird's eye view of the park, fed the pink flamingos, and finished up by getting soaked on the Shipwreck Rapids.

Tuesday 4/22 - Disneyland! What a fantastic place! Tammy's Auntie Marylouise lives near Anaheim and she met up with us at the Mouse House. We spent hours and hours and hours having the time of our lives! Sophie was just in awe at everything she saw. Well, almost everything, we took her on Space Mountain and scared the living daylights out of her.

No worries though, she soon recovered her perpetual smile and we enjoyed the Flying Dumbos, Pirates of the Carribean, the Haunted Mansion, and especially the train ride that goes around the park. She thought Honey I Shrunk the Audience was outstanding. Then, it was Dad's turn to try driving on the Autopia. Sophie said "Daddy, I'm glad Mommy drives our car". Ouch!

We ended the day by watching the parade down Main Street and then it was time to find some dinner. Unlike SeaWorld, Disneyland is "dry" so when we saw a little place in Downtown Disney Auntie, said "I need a glass of wine!". Dinner was good, and by the time we were finished Sophie was too pooped to walk back to the car so Dad had to carry her.
